Transfering images, photos, texts,drawings or any other graphics onto glass is really easy.

You print the selected image (ideally it is a good black /white version) with your Laser printer (see list below) or copy machine directly onto the Photo Fusing Decal Paper.

You then proceed the same as with any other decal, by placing it under water for a short while to separate the decal form the substrate paper and then slide and position it on the flat glass. Make sure you avoid air and water bubbles, dap them off with soft tissue paper. Dry well before firing in the kiln.
 

Best firing results at  approx. 730 - 790°C.
 

How it works?

The black toner of your Laser machine contains a percentage of iron which is heat resistant and fires off in a reddish sepia colour. The images created have a nostalgic touch - ideal for dinner table decorations, giftware, to tie memories into glass objects but also simply to integrate any image in fused glass. 

The iron oxide may react with certain glass colours, leading to more brownish or grayish shades.
 

Working in multy layers?

Photo Fusing Decal Paper is perfectly suited to be placed in between glass layers. To make sure the decal binder can fire off cleanly, fire the Photo Fusing Decal Paper onto the individual layers separately and the fuse the unit to form a block in a subsequent firing.

Photo Fusing Decal Paper in slumped glass?

No problem. Fire the decal onto the flat glass first and then slump the piece in a subsequent firing. 

>Important Note: This process works with ANY HP or Canon Black & White ONLY Laser Printers or Multifunction Printer/Copiers that use a iron oxide toner - not with any other manufacturers machines or with HP or Canon Inkjet printers. Even if you have an HP or Canon Printer which is capable of printing in colour, the process will not work.
