In a 5-day workshop Frank van den Ham – well known artist with over 35 year of work experience - will inspire you. If you have some experience with fusing, this is a workshop for you. New forms and shapes, new techniques, moulds, how to give spectacular shapes to your fused piece – even without a mould; it is all part of this workshop. Maximum 8 participants, time for everyone individually and lots of news. For an impression of what will be covered go visit Frank’s website and his work.
Frank’s work has been inspired by his numerous travels, in particular his stay in South Africa and Indonsia, where he is currently based. These impressions have also laid base to his book publications Ubuntu and Pahit Manis. His profound sense of colour and shape makes him a true master of his trade. His capacity to share with other glass workers and students – demonstrated in his many video tutorials – has and will contribute towards the glass art world immensely. Frank van den Ham’s work is shown in a great number of public collections throughout the world.
Students will design and execute one or more projects, selected from a choice of ideas presented by Frank, the techniques including colour composition, precisely controlled fusing and bending cycles, mould making, finishing and coldworking. Having Frank van den Ham teach a masterclass at our studios is a great privilege. We are happy to invite you to get to know a fantastic artist and masterly teacher.
