Black Patina for Solder

A specially formulated black patina for copper foil work. Just brush on clean solder and it imparts a darkened surface which can be polished and waxed. The final effect can be from dark gray to black, depending on the solder alloy, how well the piece has been cleaned and how long the patina remains active on the solder.

How to use: Clean solder seams with dish soap and fine steel wool. Apply black patina sparingly with a brush, leave 10–15 minutes and rinse with water. After 12–24 hours polish with a soft cloth and wax (e.g. Renaissance Wax).

May be corrosive to metals. Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye irritation. Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Keep only in original container.  Avoid release to the environment. Wear protective gloves/eye protection.IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention. Dispose of contents/container to hazardous waste collection point.
